because if any material having negative temperature coefficient of resistance then its resistance will decrease when temperature increasess, so that the resistance will change,
Nearly all materials have a temperature coefficient. In many applications the change does not matter and the tolerance of the resistor is larger than the range due to temperature. In precision applications there are more expensive resistors that have very low tempcos.
